As the Lunar New Year approached in 2024, on January 27th, a vibrant celebration of Asian culture unfolded at the American Center for Asian Students in collaboration with the Penn Museum. Under the coordination of ACAS Chairperson Meng, dancers from Vietnam, China, and Korea showcased a variety of captivating and graceful performances. The event reached its pinnacle with mesmerizing lion dances and Sichuan face-changing acts, igniting the atmosphere with excitement.
The event attracted many families with children, and Chairperson Meng, along with other members, delighted the young audience with traditional Lunar New Year stories from various Asian countries. Through firsthand experiences shared by performers, attendees gained insights into authentic cultural narratives and customs.
Within the Asian exhibition area at the museum, the American Center for Asian Students set up booths offering free Chinese calligraphy lessons and exhibitions of Chinese ink paintings.
